Navigate to the app listing page on Shopify app store WhatsApp Chat Button
Click on the “Add app” button on the listing page, and follow the simple instructions to install the app.
When you install the app, the WhatsApp Chat Button is automatically added to your storefront at the position where you specify in the dashboard. Our app currently only supports left or right sticky positions, as those are the ideal positions for placing a chat button.
In case the script tag fails to load on your storefront, or for any other reason you need to manually add the chat button, you can do so by following these steps:
Navigate to your Shopify dashboard and click on Online Store > Themes
Under Current theme, click on Actions > Edit code
Search for your theme.liquid file on the editor sidebar. Click on theme.liquid to open the file.
Search for the </body> tag in the theme.liquid file and paste the script code (see below) directly above the body tag.

Hit the Save button and you are good to go!
When you uninstall the WhatsApp Chat Button app from your store, if you had manually added the script code to your theme.liquid file, you will need to navigate back to the file and remove the script code for the button to stop showing on your store.
Enabling the chat button is simple. Simply click on the “Enable” button after you have configured your phone number.
To disable the chat button, simply click on the “Disable” button, which shows up when the app is already enabled.
By default, the WhatsApp Chat Button is disabled. This is because the app needs a valid WhatsApp phone number to be enabled.
You can easily add a WhatsApp phone number in the Configuration section of the app. This is the number that will receive all chats initiated by your store visitors. Make sure you enter a valid WhatsApp number.
Please note that the phone number should be entered in the following format - Country code and phone number, without the + symbol.
For example, if your country code is +34, and your WhatsApp enabled phone number is 6043188675, the phone number that you should enter is 346043188675. As you can see, the + symbol is excluded.
After making any changes, don’t forget to tap the SAVE button to save your settings.
Chat Button Text is the CTA text that will appear beside the chat button in your Shopify store.
By default, the CTA text of the button is set to “Chat with us”, which we think is a very simple and effective CTA text.
You can however change the CTA text to anything you like. Please note that the CTA text has a maximum limit of 30 characters

We understand how important great design is to a business. That’s why we developed several different button design templates to choose from.
Some of those designs are free. However, we worked hard to create unique new chat button designs for your store.
Premium templates can be unlocked by paying a one-time fee of just $10 for lifetime access to the templates. This includes templates that we will add in the future.
WhatsApp Chat Button smartly pre-fills the message body when a visitor or customer clicks on the chat button in your store.
To help our app users get started easily, we have set a default pre-filled message body. You can customize the pre-filled message body to your liking. There is however a limit of 140 characters.
This is how it will look inside WhatsApp.

The message body can also include a link to the page from which the visitor or customer tapped on the chat button. As a store owner, this helps you get additional context about the chat..
By default, the link is enabled. If you do not want the link in the pre-filled message, simply uncheck the option.

We understand that you might want to add other widgets to your store, which is why we give two options for positioning the sticky button on your store - right or left.
In addition, you can configure the button to have different positions on desktop and mobile. So your button can be aligned to the right on mobile, and left on desktop at the same time.
By default, the WhatsApp Chat Button is positioned on the right. However, you can easily configure that to show the button on the left.
After making any changes, don’t forget to tap the Save Settings button to save your settings.
By default, the WhatsApp Chat Button shows on both Mobile and Desktop. However, if you want to change that setting, you can.
Our app allows you to choose between showing the button everywhere (mobile + desktop), mobile only, and desktop only.
Sometimes, you may have multiple chat buttons or discount buttons on your store. It may even be a simple GDPR bar which is overlapping with your chat button.
Don’t worry, you can fix that easily by modifying the height of the chat button.
Please note that the minimum height offset is 20px, which is the default height.
In most cases of overlapping buttons, a height of 40-60px should solve the problem. Sometimes, it might be better to change the button position to the other side, rather than give it a huge height offset.
Don’t forget to SAVE SETTINGs after making any changes.
Uninstalling the WhatsApp Chat Button is easy. Simply navigate to your Shopify Apps admin, click on the trash icon. This will cancel your account and delete the app from your store.
WhatsApp Chat Button includes helpful analytics reports that help you understand how many chats are being initiated, and which pages are your store visitors most frequently initiating chats from.
You can access analytics reports by clicking on the “View Reports” button at the top left corner of the app.
Easily get an overview of WhatsApp chats initiated by visitors of your store. The top section shows you number of chats initiated Today, Yesterday, and Last 30 Days.
The remaining section of reports shows you number of chats initiated over time.
Below the graph, you will find a table giving a breakdown of chats initiated by page URL. By default, the list is arranged in descending order of page URLs by chats initiated.
You can change the time period of the graph and table by selecting the dropdown, located above the graph.
Clicking on the dropdown will give you 4 options - Last 30 Days, This Month (current month), Last Month (previous month), and Last 90 Days.
Yes, WhatsApp Chat Button is absolutely FREE. You can enable the chat button and chat with as many visitors as you want on your store, view analytics and reports, for FREE.
In the future, based on your feedback, we will be introducing new features to the app that will enable you to do more with WhatsApp. Some of those features might have require a paid subscription. Whenever that happens, we will inform you upfront and transparently. We will never charge you without your knowledge, don’t worry.
WhatsApp Chat Button is GDPR friendly.
GDPR is primarily concerned with personal data, saying that an EU citizen owns the right to their data. In WhatsApp Chat Button, we do not store identifiable information about any of your store visitors. We don’t capture information like their phone number, or anything at all that is identifiable
